Butler, who was born in Chicago moved to Los Angeles after college to pursue her dreams of acting. It was countless small parts in TV shows such as ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ ‘Mike and Molly,’ ‘NCIS’ and many more — coupled with commercials for such national brands as Progressive Insurance, Gain laundry detergent, Pizza Hut, Walmart, and Target that moved her career from part-time to full time actress; But it was that State Farm commercial that went viral that sent her from “commercial actress” to “She Shed Cheryl,” a moniker she would come to embrace.
